Information we collect

We may collect account email, profile basics, photos you upload, conversations with Omiryn, feedback messages, saved memories, WhatsApp exports you choose to import, public-site events, in-app activity events, invite requests, contact-form messages, and technical logs needed to run the service.

Approximate location

When you sign up, we estimate your approximate location (country, state and city) from your IP address, so we can suggest friends near you. The lookup uses a database stored on our own servers; no outside service sees your address. The estimate is marked as approximate, and you can correct it in your profile or in chat. IP geolocation by DB-IP.

How we use it

• To create and improve your compatibility profile.
• To provide conversations, matching, onboarding, and support.
• To understand which public pages, app pages, and actions are working.
• To respond to feedback, invite requests, privacy questions, and safety reports.

AI and memories

Omiryn may use AI to reply in chat, summarize chats, extract learned signals, adapt tone, and support compatibility suggestions. Imported memories and WhatsApp text are used only when you choose to provide them.

To write a reply, your message and the parts of what Omi knows about you that fit are sent to an AI model provider (today DeepInfra, which runs open models such as Mistral, Gemma and Qwen). The same provider reads your chats in the background to update Omi's memories.

When you upload a WhatsApp chat, Omi reads both sides so it understands what you talk about. It keeps a private summary of that chat: its topics, a few of its lines, and what the other person said about themselves. This is used only in your own chats with Omi, never to match with or contact that person, and deleting the upload deletes all of it. Only upload chats you are comfortable sharing.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not import WhatsApp unless you upload it.
• We do not message people from imported chats.
• We do not intentionally store full chat message text, memories, or WhatsApp content inside app activity event logs.
• We do not want passwords, government IDs, financial data, intimate content, or content you lack permission to share.

Your choices

• Delete any message, or select several. What Omi learned only from them is removed too.
• Delete a whole chat, or clear everything Omi knows about you while keeping your account.
• Start a Temporary Chat. Omi still knows you there, but learns nothing from it, and it is deleted when you leave it.
• Review, correct or delete Omi's memories, and choose how each one is used.
• Delete your account and its data.

You can also request correction, export, or deletion help through Contact. Some operational records may be retained where needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service integrity.

How long we keep data

• Your chats, memories, vibe and profile: until you delete them or your account.
• Technical records of how a reply was built: 30 days. They hold counts and IDs, not your messages.
• Records of background memory runs: 90 days, with any message text removed after 7 days.
• Temporary Chats: deleted when you leave them, or after 24 hours without a message.
• A log of deletions, data requests and staff access to accounts: 1 year. It holds IDs and counts, never your messages, and is kept as the record that a deletion happened.
• Backups can take a little longer to be fully removed.

Activity events and vendors

Public pages may record page views, CTA clicks, and form submissions with a browser session ID. The signed-in app may record limited activity events such as page views, chat opened, profile saved, memory imported, feedback submitted, invite requested, and client error codes. Hosting, database, auth, email, analytics, and AI vendors may process data to operate, secure, debug, and improve Omiryn. Today these are Google Cloud (hosting, database and photo storage), Supabase (sign-in) and DeepInfra (AI models).
